Have you ever seen the film: Stranger Things? If you have you may think the weird things in the movie are too far-fetched to be able to relate to anything in the real world, but you’d be wrong to think that. The actual inspiration for the great film is from a place rumored to have been used in a secret government project that meddled with experiments on children, Time travel, and mind control. This place Is known as the Montauk Project or Camp Hero. (“Inside the Real-Life Experiment That Inspired ‘Stranger Things.’)

A LITTLE ABOUT THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND

Preston Nichols was a smart but lucrative man born in long island, New York, in 1946. He is an American Writer and claims to have received degrees in Parapsychology, psychology, and Electrical Engineering. He later went to work on Defense electronics. Nichols was very confident in his theories when it comes to technical details, but some interviews have shown some insight to the man’s “research”. The public image that is portrayed would put saying, “Nichols was living in a pile of garbage” as an understatement. (disinformation) Nichols was a very smart man that played a key part in the Montauk project. But he is also a very good storyteller who knows how to make any claim he has be believed by the masses. While there are many accounts of Nichols that have proof enough to show his claims may be real. but there are many times more than that debunking and disproving Nichol’s claims. Preston Nichols may be a delusional crazy person just as much as he did take part in the “Montauk Project” that “really did” take place.

Most stories originating from this place all Circulated in the 1980s, and stem from the accounts of Preston Nichols, who states that he’s recovered repressed memories of his involvement in the project. (The Montauk Project – Disinformation) Preston Nichols at first wasn’t seen as anything other than sensational with his bold claims. but as more people came forward about their involvement in the project, the conspiracy on the whole event became more believable and started gaining traction.

Nichols was a great writer, and Very persuasive at that

Nichol’s books on the Montauk project inspired many others to believe they were part of the project, but should you believe some writer who doesn’t have any proof of the happenings; Or should you? Because if what they say is true, then it can be difficult to know what sources to trust. And with a government entity being able to change someone’s mind to cover up their tracks, it would be impossible to prove either side right from wrong. (The Montauk Project – Disinformation) The Montauk Project narrative all started in 1992 when the book titled: the Montauk Project, Experiments in time; Was first published. In further research, Nichols wasn’t the only one writing the first book on the Montauk Project. The Montauk Project: Experiments in time was written by Nichols and Peter Moon as co-authors.
It was in 1968 that Preston’s involvement in the Montauk project began (Preston Nichols Montauk). Some initial interviews with Preston Nichols seemed to prove that the whole conspiracy was just some lucrative made-up stories, but the deeper people searched the more truth they found to the conspiracy. Because once Preston Nichols went public about his involvement in the Montauk Project; the likes of Al Bielek, Duncan Cameron, Steward Swerdlow, Larry James, Dr. James Corum, and, Phil Schneider; all came to back up Preston’s claims on the ordeal.

(Al Bielek and Preston Nichols interview), he lectures and shows, with a slide presentation, the details of all the workings of the Montauk “Teleportation Chair” and other areas of the project with many actual photos, schematics, and block diagrams of how the system worked. Preston Nichols was one of the key engineers and designers of the Montauk Project.

When it comes to the theories on the Montauk project, there seems to be two different motives behind reason of Montauk. The first is that a machine known as the “Teleportation chair” was used to create a sort of portal between different realities that exist parallel to ours. Another lesser-known theory is that after government agents and test subjects were done in the project they had their minds erased by government agencies to cover up the tracks. (Al Bielek and Preston Nichols interview)

Preston Nichols was one of the key engineers and designers of the Montauk Project (1).
In some of my resources, interviews with the “Montauk boys” (Interview with Preston Nichols)and many others who had claims to have been part of the experiments going on in the disguised military base. consisted of “disturbed young men” who had their repressed memories slowly come back to them after reading Preston Nichol’s book titled: The Montauk Project: Experiments in time (1). In further research, I’ve found that Nichols wasn’t the only one writing the first book on the Montauk Project. The Montauk Project: Experiments in time was written by Nichols and Peter Moon as a co-author.
In Nichol's claims, about the experiments on those with a "weak mind", time travel, and mind control. (The Montauk Project – Disinformation) They all stem from the "teleportation chair" as he put it, where a machine would interface with someone's mind and create a rift in time and space to essentially "time travel” (1). while there are many complications to how this tool or such was made to work, using a tremendous amount of energy said by some of the projects survivors to have been supplied by the Brookhaven National Lab cyclotron, for the nearby experiments in mind control and time travel (2). This was made possible after the Philadelphia experiment was disbanded and many of the workers, researchers, and supplies were transferred to the newly started Montauk project just as the experiments were being started. But in short, the “teleportation chair” operated via applying theories of the multiverse and “Observer created reality” (3)
In an article explaining these theories by: Alexandra Bruce on (“The Montauk Project: The Idiotic Conspiracy Theory That Inspired ‘Stranger Things.’”).: “The essence of the Quantum Theory of Observer Created Reality is that there is no such thing as an OBJECTIVE reality “out there”: it’s all in our heads. Everything is consciousness. One begins to see why time travel and mind control experiments would go together…”(1).
Sadly,  for the claims of the disturbed individuals behind this conspiracy, the only technical explanations done also include the presence of either aliens or supernatural deities to try to make sense of things. It becomes hard to follow people that always rely on the supposed existence of the supernatural to back up their claims and shelter themselves in credibility of only the few that believe in the same ideas.

In the end, whether you believe the claims or not is hard to decide. Because you can believe a deranged man’s claims all the while it could’ve been a ploy by government elites to make a person become like this. The way these theories contradict each other makes it very difficult to prove with the resources that are available as of now. Still stirred up by these theories? I suppose you should be. Or you could go there and see for yourself, but even then: don’t you think the government would clean up the place before they disbanded the project. Or do the remnants of this forgotten place just keep resurfacing and coming back to that place.
Or you could wait and see if another situation arises if it really did happen then the project would still be fully operational in numerous separate timelines. (disinformation)
